Convert PowerPoint to PDF

A PDF of your slides opens on any device, keeps its layout and cannot be edited by accident, which makes it the usual format for sending decks after a meeting. This tool converts presentations with LibreOffice on our server.

Which files are supported?

PowerPoint presentations (.pptx and the older .ppt) and OpenDocument presentations (.odp). Each slide becomes one page in the PDF, at the slide's own aspect ratio, whether that is 16:9 or 4:3.

What gets lost?

A PDF is a static document. Animations and slide transitions are dropped; each slide appears in its final state, with every animated element visible. Embedded videos and audio do not play; you will see the poster frame or placeholder instead. Speaker notes are not included.

Fonts are the other thing to check. If the deck uses fonts that are not installed on our server, similar fonts are used, and text in tight boxes may wrap differently. Embedding fonts in PowerPoint before saving avoids that.

Will images stay sharp?

Images are carried over at the resolution they have in the presentation, so photos look the same as in the deck. A deck heavy with photos can give a large PDF; run it through Compress PDF afterwards if it is too big to email.

What happens to my upload?

The conversion runs on our server in Germany. The presentation is uploaded over an encrypted connection and deleted, with the PDF, automatically within two hours.

How big can the file be?

Presentations up to 50 MB are free without an account, with 20 server jobs a day included, or 50 if you sign up for a free account. Pro takes files up to 500 MB and has no daily cap. To convert every deck from a course or a quarter, drop them together: up to 5 at once are free without an account, and Pro or credits cover larger batches.

How to convert PowerPoint to PDF
