Some forms, portals and email filters only take PDFs. If what you have is a photo of a document, a scan saved as JPG or a screenshot, this tool wraps it in a PDF page so it is accepted.
Image to PDF or JPG to PDF?
This tool makes one PDF per image. Drop five images and you get five PDFs, which is what you want when each image is a separate document, such as one receipt per expense claim.
If you want several images combined into one PDF, one per page, use JPG to PDF instead.
Does the image lose quality?
No. JPG images are placed in the PDF exactly as they are, with no re-compression, so the PDF looks identical to the photo. PNG images are stored losslessly. Other formats, such as WebP, TIFF, BMP, GIF and iPhone HEIC photos, are converted to a lossless form first, so they do not lose detail either. The PDF is roughly the size of the image.
What size is the page?
The page is exactly the size of the image, so there are no white borders and nothing is cropped. A photo taken sideways by the camera is turned upright first, so the page opens the right way.
If you need a standard A4 or Letter page with margins, for example to print the result, use JPG to PDF, which has page size and margin options and works for a single image too.
Is the text in my photo searchable?
No. The PDF contains the image, not text. To get the words out, run the image through the OCR tool.
Is my file stored?
This conversion runs on our server. Your image is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted in Germany and deleted with the PDF automatically within two hours.
Is there a limit?
Images up to 50 MB are free without an account, within a daily allowance of 20 server jobs. Pro accepts 500 MB and removes the allowance. Converting a stack of receipt photos into one PDF each is a batch job: up to 5 files at once are free, and Pro takes up to 500.

Transparent areas are filled with white, since PDF pages are printed on white.
